We are very honored and we wish to thank KIFM, Mike V in the Morning, as well as Natasha and the rest of the group at the station. It is nice to be recognized and our hopes are that this will help not only raise our funds for the walk, but raise awareness for the cause!

3-Day 2008 Day 3

Thoughts from Day 3:
Jodi-I will start with my favorite part of the day…Cheering the walkers into the closing ceremonies, one of them gave me their pink rose and thanked me for helping her get through the tough days by cheering the walkers on and being their for support. WOW. That made the whole weekend worth it.
Today was very special. One of my favorite days. To see Sarah complete the walk and enter the ceremonies in her pink Survivor shirt was so awesome. You INSPIRE me, Sarah! Way to kick cancer in the FANDANGO!
I loved that Lala showed up to help us cheer in her perfect body shirt. Once a hooter, always a hooter.
To all my hooters…I love you all. You are an inspiration and I am truly blessed to have you all in my life.

Robin - Wow! we all made it without torn up feet, only a few sore muscles. I’m ready to do it all again. Sarah, I am so proud of you, there is something about digging deep that most people will never get! And Brianna, you rock! “never knew your feet could hurt so much” is your line I will always remember. Julie, thanks for listening to me during the training we did. Cindi, 7 walks down and counting. Lily, “where did she go”? Genie and B, shake that bootie. Jodi, thanks for your never ending web/photo/blog/tshirt support.

I”m all signed up for next year, who’s next?

3-Day 2008 Day 2

Day 2-The girls left camp at 6:30am. Off to the starting line. The roadies followed the walkers all day, mostly following the team for motivation. They made a few dance stops along the way. They were a hit!

Anyone Have Any MoleSkin?

Day 2 is finished. 40+ miles walked for Breast Cancer. It was a beautiful day in San Diego. It was overcast and even foggy this morning at Crowne Point. But once the walkers reached La Jolla Shores, the sun came out and the Hula Hooters were in full swing!

These pictures depict only some of the hilights of the day. Each walker on the team walked the entire way today. Not one of us took the sweep vans. Way to Go Ladies! SDPD stopped by for dinner…thanks for coming guys! You rock! Oh, yeah, and Victor BBQ’d salmon for dinner and Charlie did the chicken. MMMMMmmmmmm.

Good Nite ladies. Sweet Dreams. Don’t forget your Advil.

Here are some thoughts from the team today, Day 2:

Robin-Hey. I want to use an expletive right now, but Jodi tells me it’s a Family Blog…so,all I can say is I got my first blister in 7, yes seven, years of walking. I am whining. My favorite part of today was the weather.

Julie-Today was a great day because it felt like so much less than 20 miles. It was a great day because of all the music Brianna was playing. And Sarah got pinned from somebody and a walker found out who the “sarah” was on our shirts and walked for her from then on. I was very proud of Brianna today. My favorite part of today was the courage and strength of my teammates encouraged me, especially Brianna!

Cindi-Today was a good day because it wasn’t as cold as usual. Plus I had a stick that helped me walk. It was a walking stick. My bra felt good. My hat felt good. Life was good. My favorite part of today was turning a corner and seeing my girlfriends dancing their brains out so I could make it another few miles with the incredible pain in my joints!

Sarah-I waited for my roadies at the bottom of the hill, so I had to take the hill, then I waited for them again, but they were stuck in traffic again, so I took the hill again(that makes two big hills), I am so glad for the traffic. Without the traffic I would have not taken the hill. And I DID IT! My favorite thing about today was watching Brianna’s fanny helped coax me up the hill!

Bicely-My day was awesome. It started off with a dance stop. That dance stop never ended until the last Hula Hooter crossed the finish line. My perfect body suit, of which I am in a hot thong bikini, was the main attraction. OK, it was the ’sweet love’ tatoo on my lower back. My favorite part of today was watching the walkers come to life when they heard the Roadie Music!

LIlly-Looking at those hills…(grabs her forehead)then, looking at the end of that tunnel. Finishing was a satisfaction. My favorite part of today was all the cheering stations, looking at all those happy faces that motivated me all the way, plus these young chicks in their bikini shirts, that helped pump up the volume and helped us move every step ahead.

Genie-So, the bicycle cop stopped when he saw me shaking it, pulled out his handcuffs and then slapped my fandango. He was with San Jose PD, just so you know. It was such a great time because I had such a great crew with me in the Roadiemobile. We had the walkers in stitches! My favorite part of today was all the dance stops with the roadies.

Brianna-I was grooving to the sound of Michael Jackson. Hanging out with Julie was really fun. My favorite part of today was being a Pack Leader with Julie.

Jodi-My Roadie team had me in stitches today, as they shook what their Momma gave ‘em. My favorite part of today was Robertos. We ordered 24 rolled tacos with extra cheese and guac for Team Hula Hooters. We ate them by the roller coaster in Belmont Park. I have a slight sunburn from the haze. Don’t forget to re-apply.

3-Day 2008 Day 1

And they’re off!

The 2008 Breast Cancer 3-Day Walk has begun. The good news is now there is less than 60 miles to go!

Stay tuned throughout the next three days as we document in word and picture the journey of Team Hula Hooters. Keep us all in your prayers. Thank You!

7:26pm-DAY 1-As we speak, the Hooters are lining up for Genie’s magic massagers. She brought a foot massager and a professional back massager, like they use at the chiropracter. Many ooooos and aaaaaahs are coming out of our campsite right now.

Here are a few comments from the team on day 1:

Brianna-Good Nite.

Cindi-Every year, I start off excited and refreshed. Gonna go gangbusters! By Torrey Pines I am thinking, is my heart going to stay in my chest? But walking with my hooters, and the girls too, knowing that all my friends and family contributed to make sure I could walk for their friends and family made something so hard so SWEET!

Victor- Genie needs sunscreen.

Sarah-Hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiil NO!

Genie-I want to thank Premier Reprographics for doing such an awesome job on our banner! Sooooo many compliments! Thank You!

Lilly-I found my friend from the bus last year. We were both walking this year! WE made it!

Julie-I am very proud of our first time walker, Brianna! Way to go Hooters!

Robin-I’m in the shower right now…I need a new computer.

Bicely-I didn’t think that being a roadie would be as exciting as walking, but it turned out to be a great experience today!

Jodi-I missed all the fun, but i get to catch everyone up on the blog…tomorrow, Roadies here i come!
