A Roadie's Perspective
The walk seemed to have fewer participants this year, but the San Diego 3-Day still raised over $9 million dollars for the Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation! The walk seemed more intimate, as we met and became connected to so many wonderful people.
I noticed more Men walking this year. Guys like the 60 Mile Men and other teams, as well as many individual men, some much later in years, dedicated to finding a cure!
Once again, San Jose PD made the trip down to help keep us safe-and entertained this year. And as an added bonus, this year we were blessed to have San Diego's Finest for added support and security.
SDPD were all such good sports, allowing us to don their persons and their bikes with signage and pink paraphernalia. We even had our very own Team Hula Hooters "play thing" and "boy toy".
To all Law Enforcement and Emergency Personnel, We Thank You! ( even SD Fire Dept got in on the fun)
Our Roadie crew it seems, made an impact again this year. Although we are there to support our team with their needs, it gives us great pleasure to be able to offer assistance to all walkers. Yes, we also entertain. It's true.
We even had a special visit from our fabulous LaLa, who was FLAWLESS in her Pink-Themed Dominatrix ensemble...and putting a SPANKING on Cancer!
So to all our new Breast Friends, we are proud of you and we are glad we could be there for you. Keep up the great work for the Cure, don't forget your Breast Self-Exams, and we will see you next year!
Can you please tell me where you guys got your t-shirts that you wore for the walk...???
